Who benefits from Obama’s stimulus plan?
Bloomberg amasses an impressive list of companies likely to get a boost from a massive infrastructure investment plan.
The more obvious winners, based on stock increases after the president-elect’s radio address Dec. 6, are makers of earth-moving equipment, as well as steel and cement producers. These may be in line for business from proposals to rebuild bridges and highways.
Yet, the initiative that looks to rival the 1956 effort to create an interstate highway system will also involve spending billions of dollars on schools, health care, broadband expansion, the electrical grid and the Internet.
So, yeah, the Yellow Father gets a boost, but also, makers of rail cars, computers, Internet search engines, steel. Interestingly, people who build stuff or serve interesting stuff rather than, say, manufagture paper profits for millionaires.
